We want to be closer to our customers, connecting them with the origin and bridging the logistical gap to deliver the best of our portfolio across the United States.
That’s why, in November 2023, we founded Ventola Coffee LLC. This has empowered us to encompass the entire production and logistic chain, from passionate coffee growers, producers and processors to exporters and importers of Colombia’s finest specialty coffees.
Our coffees are stored at Continental Terminals in New Jersey, from where we can deliver anything from a 20-kilo box to full lots nationwide.
Each Signature Coffee is a unique project for us, beginning with the design of the desired coffee attributes together with our clients.
The process starts with production estimation and continues with the planning and supervision of each stage: harvesting, cherry selection, processing, fermentation, and drying. Then, in our processing plant, we carry out a meticulous process of hulling, selection, and rigorous quality assessments at every phase. Finally, the project culminates with packaging, export, and import to the destination country.
That’s why each coffee profile has a story that we love to create and share.
¡Come, and Taste the Story!
Based on our clients’ market, desired tier, variety, flavour and aroma, we collaboratively create the coffee profile to be developed.
To obtain the desired profile, we design the processes for harvesting, selection, processing, fermentation and drying.
The field team must be trained in executing each process to achieve the desired profile.
Texture, aftertaste, flavour, and other attributes are largely dependent on the type and number of selections made from the harvested cherries.
At our own farms
Cuppings are essential to ensure everything is on track and to anticipate any variables in the process.
Our hulling machine for specialty coffees features a cross-beater huller that de-husks the coffee without heating the beans, along with a separation process using a catador, as well as size and density sorters.
Our colour sorter selects the coffee according to the quality requirements of each market and customer.
Our in-house quality laboratory performs four physical and sensory analyses on each batch throughout the process, ensuring full traceability and a guaranteed quality standard.
Green coffee beans are vacuum-packed in 10kg bags and then placed in 20kg carton boxes. Boxes are stored on our racks before shipping.
Partnering with over five shipping lines, we export directly from our facilities to maritime ports.
We manage the import of our shipments into the United States and store our coffees at Continental Terminals in New Jersey, from where we deliver to our customers, starting from a single 20kg box.
Of everything we do, this is what we love the most: hosting our friends at our farms!
